‘Bad Bad Feeling’, TAURO : from Episode 5

@PhoebeStreetLIVE is a new show recorded and shot at Phoebe St Studio in Toronto to document and further humanize the beauty and power of music. Raw, unfiltered and LIVE.
We use a mix of vintage and new high-grade analog recording equipment to both record and mix the audio and a film crew of pros use an equally powerful combination of cameras and lights to capture the visual part of the performance in a cinematic and engaging way.
Episode FIVE features new Toronto combo TAURO! A band built by classically trained pianist and lead singer Cynthia Tauro as well as musician and DJ, Brendan Canning, of Broken Social Scene. The project started as an outlet for their collaboration and has blossomed into a proper group with gigs under their belt and a new album dropping TODAY via Birthday Cake Records, led by single ‘Bad Bad Feeling’. Find them, follow them. It’s a beautiful record that, at times, reminds me of Beth Horton, Radiohead and even Tears For Fears.
For Phoebe St. LIVE, Cynthia, Brendan, guitarists Lucian Gray and Kintaro Akiyama and Sam Roberts Band drummer, Josh Trager, break down some of these songs and present them with an unplugged feel, worked out on the fly, to create a dreamy set of indie pop magic featuring soothing, sparkly guitars and infectious melodies. A nuanced and well-executed performance very much in keeping with the spirit of the show. Here is lead single Bad Bad Feeling from their debut album, Act 1. Enjoy!
