Grey Shrike thrush North Coast NSW

The photo I've used in this video is not the actual bird in the audio - but it is the same species. Okay, re the audio, firstly it's best if you use headphones to listen to it, so that you can appreciate the wonderful sound 'picture' it conveys. It was recorded in a part of the forest that is quite close to the most direct road from Grafton to Armidale in northern NSW. I could not see the bird, while I was making the recording, but the experts at the Australian Museum identified it by its wonderful call. (I already suspected that it was a Grey Shrike-thrush.) If you have watched my other video, 'Aussie Birds and Their Calls - new, revised edition', you will have already heard the first call of this bird that I recorded. In fact, it was the reason that I got 'into' recording bird calls. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it! Maybe next time, I'll make a much longer recording!!
