A huge advantage to using a game engine like UE4, that is often overlooked, is its ability to animate and render extremely quickly. We know it can do architectural walkthroughs as well, but in this video we focus on the animation.
As we know, animation in the traditional way, frame by frame, can be very tedious. Not so in UE4.
To take advantage of the real time animation abilities, we need to learn to use something called the level sequencer. This is basically a key framing tool for all the objects in our scene. It gives us a timeline, with the ability to add key frames on any aspect of our scene actors.
In this tutorial I will demonstrate how to animate basic camera functions using the level sequencer. We will then look a little bit at creating a master sequence which can contain multiple camera clips. Much like with Adobe After Effects, we can take several clips, add them together in a master sequence, fade between them, etc. And it is all built in to UE4.
