Slip disc is the most common word or still commoner is back ache neck pain and stiffness of the back. It maybe due to so many reasons like falling down, accidents, or physiologically like in pregnancy, it is called as back ache. One of the most common reasons for this back ache is slip disc. Slip disc is a common terminology used for a technical term for degenerative intervertebral disorder; IDVP is what we call it as. In a spine structure, there are 5 cervical, the neck, 12, the mid back, the lower 5 are the lumbar, what we call it, the 5 united at the end is called the sacral bone and the rest is the coccyx which is more cartilaginous in structure.in a hip bone, they firm the normal hips, the nerves and the blood vessels follows in through the disc canal. The spongy between the disc acts like a cushion, and when there is a movement it takes all the pressure in it. So when there is a an injury, this disc will rupture and cause it to swell and slightly disc material coming out or there is a big tear and all the disc material can come out, in one place or in multiple places. The most commonly where it happens in the lower back it is L5, S1, between L4,L5 and between L3,L4. Similarly C5,C6, and C6,C7 and C7 ,T1 is the junction where it happens in the neck. In the lower back it can come to the leg causing sciatica. But if it happens in the neck, it can happen in the neck and the radiating pain towards the hands even to the fingers. This can be intermittent or temporary and it may go off or it might be engaging and makes the person incapable of doing anything, the best investigation is MRI of the affected place. I would recommend Ayurvedic pachkarma. From 7 days to 42 days this treatment is done, which involves katibasti, grivabasti, nadiswedha, abhyanaga, patrapinda and matrambasti. Sometimes katidhaara, or grivadhaara are also taken if it is required and many at times chandanabalalakshadhitaila and amruthaaditaila, which is doen and ganadakaphaka is also used, this preparation is mainly used to see if the swelling is reduced, the pressure is reduced by reducing the swelling that has happened once the pressure is reduced, the pain is relived and the person will come back to almost normalcy. To strengthen the back, the chandanabalalakshadhitaila and amruthaaditaila, and ganadakaphaka is given to apply it on the or back after indirectly warming it regularly ranging from 3 months. If they follow this with some light exercise like yoga, walking swimming, they show extremely good results.
