If you're currently using your Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits to help pay for your school housing, you may be wondering if it can also count as part of your qualifying income for a VA loan.

Sadly, most lenders DON'T count it. Because it's a short-term option that's only available while using your education benefits, lenders know it's not an income source that's likely to continue. When determining your income, they want to make sure you'll still be able to afford the home, even when you no longer have access to your GI Bill benefits.
