People all over the world are forced by necessity to transact important daily life activities online. With the increased digitalisation, large tech companies dictate and control online terms of service (TOS), which is usually a one-sided "take it or leave it" offer imposed by the powerful tech companies consumer interacts with. The speaker advocates for a global change in the wording and uniform legal structure for online TOS, and how big tech companies obtain user consent. Reed is an Avenues Shenzhen student with a broad scope of interests. These include interdisciplinary discussions on law, politics, philosophy, and sciences. In today's Tedx talk, he will be analyzing online contract laws in our increasingly technology- dependent world.
