Hacking Neurodiversity Video Series - Episode 2 - Learning & Loving Neurodiversity
Episode 2 of our series of videos in partnership with www.Inrehearsal.com.
This episode has one job at its heart. To let parents of autistic children, wherever their loved ones are on the spectrum (verbal or non verbal), know that they are amazing! No shadow of a doubt!
Most of us regularly feel like we are the worst parents in the world, constantly under scrutiny from others, and dealing with challenges that engage us in activities well beyond the remit of what might be considered 'normal'.
It is important to forgive ourselves, have confidence in what we are doing, know that we are doing the best job we can in difficult circumstances and know that despite how we might criticise ourselves, we are providing the best opportunities for our children.
There are no crash courses in this world for looking after a neurotypical child. We all learn along the way, and make a lot of mistakes, but all in the best interests of our loved ones. With every mistake we learn, with every difficult situation we hone our skills and with every success (no matter how small) we celebrate our achievements.
We say so often that the diagnosed have 'Super Powers', well even super heroes have mums and dads that taught them everything they know :)
These videos are free to download and use to raise awareness of Autism.
