Can a Short Strangle Repair a Stock that is Down?

Gustavo has a down stock and asked our opinion on a repair:
Sell January OTM Call and Put (short strangle)
And buying a March or May lower Put to lower the monetary obligation.

- Just selling AT or OTM Calls
- Doing a tighter, closer in Short Strangle month by month
- Doing just the 100 day out Short Strangle
- Gustavo's proposed adjustment
