During her week in The Amphitheater Hot Shop, Cat Burns was able to focus on developing a new body of work called Contours of Color, developed as a response to the slow deterioration of her own eyesight. These pieces explore a tactile relationship with glass—communicating how color can be more than a visual medium.

The Shops (https://shops.cmog.org) is proud to partner with artists to develop their work and further their careers in the field. Through these on-site making sessions, artists are provided the opportunity to work with skilled glassblowing assistants, access to state-of-the-art facilities, and receive guidance from our experienced retail team. Throughout the week, they'll have time to develop their product lines and experiment with new ideas. Once their product line is fully developed they are provided the opportunity to offer these products through The Shops.
