In 2015 rumors of a return to George Miller's Mad Max universe were silenced after the seminal "Fury Road" trailer had been promoted. Once and the combo Husband and Wife duo of Director and Editor Mr. and Mrs. Miller created the most ambitious grindhouse project of all time. Gone was Mel Gibson of the original trilogy, and instead younger actor Tom Hardy (Dark Knight Rises, The Revenant) stepped into the role of Max, a former highway patrolman haunted by demons of his past family. Top notch directing, and score the spiritual sequel to the "Road Warrior" proves George Miller is still the best R-rated director even at his advanced age. RIP to Hugh Keays-Byrne of Mad Max 1 "Toecutter" infamy, who became immortalized in what is considered to be the most menacing Mad Max universe villain "Immortan Joe" an unparrelled performance in the post-apocalyptic Sci-fi Action genre.
