Nisa talks about how she comes from a complete theatre background - both very liberating but she also needs to fill some really big shoes. It’s about moving away from home where every experience pushes her to understand who she is going out into the world. Also coming from a background where she worked on stage from the age of 10 but only realizing at 28 that maybe she wants to give Bollywood a try and actually make it a career; taking that step from theatre to film while also being a singer. Having many dreams and being able to follow them all.
Nisa Shetty is an actress, singer and song-writer. At a young age, Nisa began training as a singer - Indian and western, dance; kathak and contemporary and also acting at the Akshara Theatre under the guidance of internationally known theatre artists Jalabala Vaidya and Gopal Sharman who are also her grandparents. Their play "The Ramayana" is one of the only plays from India to have successfully run on Broadway and world over with 2000+ performances. Nisa has acted in over 25 plays including The Ramayana, and played lead roles in Ritusamhara, The English Teacher, The Revised Kama Sutra, The Strange Case of Billy Biswas, the Sherlock Holmes series, etc. She plays the role of Babette in Disney's spectacular stage production Beauty And The Beast. She has an acted in commercials and documentaries and short feature films and has done voice overs, ad jingles.
