Myths are stories that convey through symbols sacred truths that are hard to express in words, making them esoteric or not easily grasped. The biblical Garden of Eden story is best understood from the standpoint of mythological studies, which Arthur and Elena George did in their recent award-winning book, "The Mythology of Eden." In this talk Arthur will explain the mythical symbolism in the story, the meaning of the knowledge of good and evil, and how early Christianity co-opted the story for its own purposes.
