A walk through of a low level brute force calculation of the covariant derivative on the three sphere. This video narrates over the pages in my computational notebook and follows the progress of the calculation in a sequence of frames called BOXes. As a problem solving technique brute force is kind of a last resort, but many ideas can pop up as you go along. Three are highlighted here.
