How to build a creative career after leaving university!
In this episode, we look at how to build your creative career when you leave university. We look at ways how to get into art galleries and how to make a name for yourself in the art/creative world.
Information about myself and GXONA
Firstly, my name is Geona, I studied fashion design at University Of The Creative Arts and graduated in 2020 during the pandemic. My brand created by GXONA is my name with a play on the spelling, instead of putting the E it's replaced with an X for two main reasons, first being without the 'E' you'll still be able to pronounce the name (G-ONA) and the second reason meaning is to X out any social constructions, any social boxes and be welcoming to all. I personally try to use my art to shine a light to current situations within society, be a voice for those who feel unheard or overlooked and also give hope and comfort to my audience.
Eventually, I want to incorporate my art into the fashion side of my creativity in a unique, new way, but as of now, I'm focusing on building my name as a black artist. Finally, like the name(created by GXONA), everything is created by me, from starting point to the final product.
