Higher wages for teachers have contributed to the ‘rise in education costs’

AMP Chief Economist Shane Oliver says higher wages for teachers have contributed to the “rise in education costs”.

Mr Oliver joined Sky News Australia to discuss contributing factors to Australia’s inflation problem.

Annual inflation dipped to 3.6 per cent in the year to March.

It is down from 4.1 per cent in the 12 months to December.

Economists say the result exceeded market expectations.
