Pokemon X/Y In-Depth Review

Shortly after Pokemon Black and White 2 hit shelves in North America, Pokemon X and Y were released worldwide on October 12, 2013 to overwhelming critical success and excitement.

With tons of amazing new Pokemon as well as the much-anticipated mega evolution mechanic, the Kalos region seemed geared towards both newer and older fans of the series as they eventually became some of the best selling games on the Nintendo 3DS. However, shortly after their release, many fans began lamenting over the many cut or revised features that the modern games did away with.

So does generation 6 take massive steps back for the blockbuster franchise? Or are they underrated gems that get too much hate from the Pokemon community?
