How To Replace A Speed Sensor On A 91-95 Honda Civic

Basic step how to remove and replace your speed sensor. Tools and tips included for a successful mechanical work.

If your car is not starting check first:
1. Battery is good. Good connection on battery posts and free from (sulfate). Clean if necessary.
2. Check all Main Engine Fuse Box (Near Battery) and supplementary fuses are good, (underneath dashboard, kick panel by Driver and Passenger sides).
3. Check the Engine starter and alternator charging battery.
4. Check the Engine codes and go from there.
5. Check the steering column starter key switch.
6. Check the Engine Main Relay or other relays, (underneath dashboard, kick panel by driver side).
7. Check the fuel pump is working. (Check to make sure there is fuel in tank and the engine injectors are being pressurized with fuel pressure)
8. Check the speed sensor.
9. Check that the steering column is sending power to the car computer.
10. Check the starter signal to your main relay switch coming from the computer.

This is a process of elimination to find what component is failing. You may need an electrical technician or (have the car electrical manual, multi-meter and electrical skills) to help you narrow down what part is malfunctioning, then you can replace the defective parts.
