After that I will discuss the build quality, then ease of installation, and then we will jump into the benchmark tests to see how well this 10900K performs paired with a 1660 Super.

On the Geekbench 5 single core performance the Intel build came out guns blazing picking up a score of 1420 which tops my charts for this test. In the multicore benchmark the 10900K is still a great buy at 9805 coming in a good bit behind the 3900X but well above the closest competition on my chart.

On Cinebench R20 the 10900K Build picks up a 6378 on the benchmark placing it in second place on my tests results.

Now let’s dive into the Puget Systems photoshop benchmark. I use this benchmark to see how well a computer will be able to handle Adobe’s design suite by testing it in the most system intensive software in the suite, Photoshop.

For the Photoshop benchmark the 10900K GTX 1660 Super combo scored an 937, meaning this computer will cut through any photoshop task like a knife through Jello.

For graphic design this build will dominate. You will experience smooth workflows in Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, and other graphic design programs like Sketch, the Affinity suite, and Figma.

On the standard After Effects test the Intel i9-10900K snagged a 981 and for the Render test it scored a 541.

Let’s take a look at some 3D modeling benchmarks to see how these two stack up against each other:

10900K - Autodesk 3DS Max: 156.63
10900K - Autodesk Maya: 214.91
10900K - PTC Creo: 139.11
10900K - Solidworks: 81.64

During the 4k playback with the 10900K I saw ZERO dropped frames. Both CPUs handle half quality and fourth quality playback with ZERO dropped frames. You might see some more dropped frames at full quality while multitasking, but you can easily switch to half or fourth quality to continue to get smooth playback in the timeline.
