Sorry for the inaccuracy regarding the pipe thread torques spec and pie dope type. I tend to look under my vehicles frequently and if I see the fluid seeping, I will go ahead and make a change. I will not have an arterial leak because I used incorrect pipe dope, therefore, i do not get overly concerned with it.
As for a torque spec, when dealing with tapered threads, i prefer a little looser than too tight. I would not say they are easy to strip out, but I do not like the though of overtightening them. You can always add another quarter or half turn if something is seeping.
