Using a Tiller and FEL to Dig a Drainage Ditch - John Deere 2025R
Some years with a lot of rain will cause issues in Dad's garden. Last year he hand dug a trench which helped out a lot, so we decided to make it a bit better. We used his new John Deere 2025R with a 49" Frontier Tiller and Front End Loader to dig a shallow drainage ditch that will be able to mowed over with a riding lawn mower.
The ditch is about 8 ft. across with a depth of about 5 or 6 inches. This wide shallow ditch has nicely tapered sides that will not be an issue for the riding lawn mower yet still be able to drain excess water away from the garden.
Hopefully this will give you some ideas for similar situations on your property.
