This was a large scale project for Glacier National Park. It took over 6 months to complete. First, the logs were harvested by an expert logger. It took him weeks to get all the material needed for the project. The beams had to be the perfect diameter and length to match the original beams in the lodge that had been there for over 100 years! It took an incredible amount of skill to carefully replace each beam and take out the old rotten beams. The end result looks spectacular and has left the Lake McDonald Lodge looking better than ever, but still like the original.
