Judy Wajcman - Time in the Digital Age

Time in the Digital Age, a lecture by Judy Wajcman at CCCB.

Judy Wajcman is a former Professor of Sociology at the Research School of Social Sciences of the National University of Australia and Centennial Professor at the Institute of Gender and Sociology of the London School of Economics. Her research is focused on the ways in which technologies have gender, in both their design and in their use. At the same time, she out own subjectivity is shaped by the techno-scientific culture of the world in which we are living.

In it, Wajcman will reflect on how digital culture has changed the concept of time while simultaneously changing us. While technology and communication devices are supposed to make our lives easier, they are, in fact, complicating it and holding us hostage. This is an especially key major issue now, at the height of the technology boom, when society is increasingly dependent on technology and is, perhaps, becoming its slave.
