Opening Day, Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, Chama, NM!

June 5, 2021 was the opening day for the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad's Chama operation. 487 leads passengers to Osier, CO and back.
Leaving the Chama yard is like taking a step back in time to another era. Sheep are being herded at Lobato by horseback riders and sheep dogs. Some of the most beautiful scenery in the country is to be found between Chama and Osier. After departing Cumbres, 487 glides down the curves at Tanglefoot through a beautiful meadow before continuing on to Los Pinos and Osier.
