The EXCALIBUR Legacy

The Excalibur from Kirk's era suffered an unfortunate fate, being the target of the M5 computer. Later models fared much better in the expanded lore of Star Trek, such as the Ambassador Class under the command of Mackenzie Calhoun and by the time of Star Trek Online, the Excalibur class was the poster child of the federation for the turn of the century.
