Whiteface Mountain, Lake Placid, NY 2019

While visiting the Adirondacks during Labor Day weekend 2019, we took a day trip up to Lake Placid city and to Whiteface Mountain, home of the 1932 & 1980 Winter Olympics.
What breathtaking views from the summit. You can drive up close to the summit, via Veterans Memorial Highway which is full of wonderful views, and then park at the end by the "castle" gift shop/ restaurant.
From the parking at the top of Veterans Memorial Highway, visitors can either enter a tunnel in the mountain to ride the elevator up to the summit, or there's the option to hike up to the summit.
This is a video of our hike up to the summit and the incredible views, and on a clear day one can see Vermont and Montreal, Canada.
