Why are grown women buying fake skincare from 23-year-old skin influencers that have no education in the science of skin or anti-aging? But I'm a doctor. I'm a dermatologist, board certified. And I'm here telling you that what you wash your face with and moisturize with really doesn't matter, okay? You can use cheap brands, brands that are affordable. I shouldn't say cheap. That's not a glamorous word. Affordable. You can use a CeraVe, a Cetaphil. As long as your moisturizer and wash is not causing you inflammation or irritation, most washes are not on your skin long enough to do any wonders for your skin. And most moisturizers are just moisturizing the top layers of your skin. The skincare that matters is active and ingredients like vitamin C, retinol, biopeptides. Everything else can make your skin temporarily look better and get dirt and makeup and chemicals off of your skin like a cleanser, which is important. But they are not anti-aging. Yo!
