Today’s Chiefs news also includes GM Brett Veach saying that WR Marcus Kemp will return soon. KC will have to make a roster move to make room for Kemp on the 53-man roster. Chiefs news also focuses on the 2021 Kansas City Chiefs Practice Squad additions. Chiefs 5th round pick Cornell Powell was a surprise cut, but he returns to the practice squad today. Other preseason standouts Shane Buechele and Derrick Gore are also back. Kansas City also added a few players that spent the NFL Preseason with other teams including Cortez Broughton, Benito Jones and Christian Rozeboom.

Tyrann Mathieu has tested positive for COVID-19. He's been placed on the COVID/Reserve list. His status for Week 1 vs. Browns.
