LOUISIANA SWAMP TOUR! Gators are EVERYWHERE! (RVing in Louisiana)

If you have not been to Louisiana, I hope this video will make you want to visit! We had taken a tour earlier in the day and learned about Perique tobacco so we went out in search of some Perique cigars and make a stop at Cafe Perique for a delicious cinnamon roll and to see the photos of the harvesting of this tobacco.

Then onto the main event... the swamp tour! We are taking a pontoon boat ride with Cajun Pride Swamp Tours. This was amazing!! There were gators everywhere! We could even see them hanging around before we started the tour as they were all around the boarding area. And once we got out into the swamp, I cannot tell you how many gators, turtles, and other wildlife we saw. Did you know that a swamp can be beautiful? Well it can. Most people think of the word swamp and have a negative feel, but going through this landscape was beautiful! And our guide was great! He was funny and so informative. We cannot recommend this tour enough!

After the tour, we were in search of Louisiana food. First up, a stop at Jacob's World Famous Andouille Sausage where they were nice enough to give us a tour of the smokehouse and we left with a bag of goodies! For dinner, we head out to Lake Pontchartrain. This is one of the biggest fresh water lakes in the USA right outside of New Orleans. We enjoyed a fabulous seafood dinner at Bec's at the Lake. The portions were HUGE and cooked to perfection.

This was a fantastic taste of Louisiana day, one that anyone would enjoy!
