Traditional Indian beliefs allowed communities to revere the environments they lived in and connect holistically to their surroundings. Community beliefs enshrined in folk traditions and oral literature fostered a reverence for the natural world. Thus we need to preserve these and the recreation of folk song “Chandniya raata ra nazara” is an attempt in that direction. This humble attempt encompasses a wider vision of reviving all type of traditional Himachali folk lore’s coupled with protection and preservation of pristine environment, natural resources and clean and uncomplicated lives of people, as was envisaged in the folk tradition based on the traditional wisdom of co-existence with nature.
