Why Mexican Immigration Stopped Me at Tijuana Airport (Permanent Resident Warning)

When I landed at Tijuana International Airport (January 2026), I was stopped by Mexican immigration after presenting my Mexican permanent residency card.

In this video, I share the full exchange with immigration at the Tijuana airport and explain what I was told regarding traveling within Mexico as a permanent resident. This is meant as a warning and informational video for others living in Mexico or traveling as temporary or permanent residents.

⚠️ Important update:
I flew again 10 days later, and there was no checkpoint and no ID check at all — highlighting the inconsistency of immigration enforcement and information that many travelers experience in Mexico.
