I dreamt that I woke up

Have you ever had a false awakening? That terrifying moment when you think you've woken up, but you're still dreaming? Psychologists call it a "nested dream" — your brain creates a perfect simulation of your bedroom to trick you into thinking you've escaped. But you haven't.
False awakenings spike during periods of high anxiety, screen overload, and when your mind is stuck processing the same problems over and over. Your brain literally can't tell the difference between being awake and being asleep anymore.
In this dream, you wake up. Everything seems fine. You stand up. And then the floor falls out — and you're right back where you started. Trapped in the loop.
The Freudian reading? Your mind is protecting you from something you don't want to face. The Jungian reading? You're refusing to confront your shadow — the version of yourself you keep avoiding. The modern cognitive reading? Your threat-detection system is firing nonstop, running the same simulation because it can't find a resolution.
Next time you wake up... are you sure you're actually awake?
