How to detangle Shrunken 4C hair

This video should be entitled “how to detangle 4C hair, PERIODT” because whether my hair is shrunken or not, this is what I do.

Before you ask, this is the ONLY time I detangle my hair - after washing and conditioning and gently finger separating/detangling.

Otherwise, I can stretch my styles as much as I want, but my hair will not see a comb/brush until the next time I wash.

“But your hair is at its weakest when wet”.

Maybe so, but my hair is most hydrated when wet which makes it more malleable.

And no, brushes aren’t going to magically melt your tangles away but with the right method, you can use any tools and get the same results.

I have a YouTube video breaking down how I did this when I did use to prepoo and the method is still the same. Handle your hair with care (and don’t let your hair dry out), and your tangles will be at a minimum.

Shrinkage isn’t the enemy. It is what our hair does naturally. The moment I stopped fighting it, my hair flourished.

By the way, this is two weeks of shedding which is normal for me.
