I'm Ray Rudowski, creator and host of Milonga Mascarita: The Podcast, a tango podcast dedicated to exploring the secrets, persoanlities, history and back-stories of tango.

My guest in this podcast is Argentine musical conductor based in Cologne Mariano Chiacchiarini who will be conducting "PIAZZOLLA AT 100" in Hong Kong April 16 & 17 2021 in Hong Kong. This marks the first tango show in Hong Kong since the pandemic. Mariano discusses the challenges of conducting this show with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, the music and cultural significance of Astor Piazzolla on the anniversary of the centennial of his birth and the artistic challenges he faced and broke through to create a truly unique sound of his own.
