BLIND TRUST EXPERIMENT - Free Hugs in London Social Experiment

We live in a society that tells us daily to fear what we don't know. To be distrustful, to be careful, to not talk to strangers. I set out on a mission to prove that you CAN not only TALK to strangers, but you can actually HUG them. I put my faith in people around me as I walked blindfolded down Westminster Bridge, holding a sign saying 'Free Hugs'.

The most wonderful thing happened - people of all age, gender and ethnical background came to give me a hug. Some of them had strongly encouraged the initiative, others were more shy. Some stood by with their cameras but did not dare to approach me to spread the love.

The reason why I put myself in such a vulnerable position, with the potential of being rejected time and time again was to show that beneath a world that doesn't care and that seems cold, there is a world that cares so deeply. We can all change it in small and big ways by having faith in one another, by having faith in the unknown and by going into the world with open arms and an open heart.

A massive, massive thank you to Dee Omar, my wonderful friend and fellow YouTuber who has inspired me to do this video in the first place. It would have never existed without her, not only in the metaphorical sense, but also in the literal one as she was the one who filmed me. THANK YOU, DEE!
