Working moms have the right to reliable childcare support in or near the workplace. This provision makes it easier for them to balance work and family, ensuring a smoother transition back to their careers post-childbirth 🤰
Acc to Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act 2017 the working mothers 🤰have access to adequate childcare facilities in or near the workplace making it easier for them to return to work after child birth.
👉It is mandatory for every company who have 50 or more employees to provide a creche/daycare facility to its employees
👉Creche/Daycare should accesible ideally in the same premise or nearby location (within 500 metres)
👉Creche/Daycare facility should be accessible for children up to 6 years of age and should be availble during the working hours of the company
👉Women employees are allowed four visits to the creche/daycare during the day
👉The cost associated with running a creche or collaboration with other creches should be borne by employer
👉 The employer can be fined up to Rs. 5000 or imprisonment up to 1 year or both, if he denies the facility
👉Though it is a mandatory requirement to provide creche facility to employees, however, if that is not feasible for the employer, the employee can negotiate reimbursement of the actual expense incurred on creche or agree a monthly compensation
