Remembering Jim Duren - The April 5, 2012 Interview

The Oak Mountain Community lost a giant last week in the passing of Jim Duren on November 5, 2020. Mr. Duren was the Founding Director of the Oak Mountain High School Band from its inception in 1999 until his retirement in 2012. Mr. Duren had over 39 years as a music instructor and served as Director for Mountain Brook Jr. High and High School Bands as well as Pelham High School Band. Mr. Duren taught and influenced the lives of thousands of students throughout his career. He will be sorely missed but his legacy will live on.

Before his retirement in May 2012, Cliff Brane (The Voice of the Spirit of Cahaba) sat down with Mr. Duren for an interview. This was captured April 5, 2012.
