I painted 1,000 surfboards while my daughter napped. Changed everything.

She was only two. I was broke, teaching 850 kids weekly as an art teacher, and trying to escape the reality of bankruptcy by painting these little wooden surfboards during lunch breaks.

Kids kept begging for them. "Miss Easley, can you paint me one?" I'd say no, they were just for fun.
Until I finally realized after 150 students asked, "maybe I can sell these?!"

We rented a tiny booth at the beach for $1,200 a month. I had no idea what I was doing. Opening day? Nobody bought anything. I went to Buffalo Wild Wings and cried.
