2021 Mahindra Scorpio has been one of the most successful models in the company’s lineup and is considered as a sales mainstay, at least in the Seven seater SUV segment. In fact, having such a reputation has prompted the company to keep updating the SUV quite regularly.

Considering the 2021 Mahindra Scorpio price in India, it is one of the most fitting alternatives to the other options in this segment. The MAHINDRA SCORPIO SUV is very competitively priced and turns out to very good value for a money car. Visually, the new Scorpio is a treat to watch and has every bit of those aesthetic cues that make it look bold and muscular.

Mahindra Scorpio Engine & Transmission

New Mahindra Scorpio 2021 is available in a total of six variants with three engine trims. The base model gets a completely different engine, which is an m2DICR diesel engine making just a meagre 75 bhp power at 3,200 revs per minute and a maximum torque of 200 Nm at 1,400 revs per minute. The 2.2-liter tried-and-tested mHawk diesel engine is also added in the S5 and S7 grades, which produces the highest power of 120 bhp at 4,000 revs per minute along with a peak torque of 280 Nm at 1,800 revs per minute.

However, the range-topping S11 grades are powered by the same 2.2-liter mHawk engine but with a new tuning that enables the engine to produce a maximum power of 140 bhp at 3,750 revolutions per minute along with a peak torque of 320 Nm at 1,500 revs per minute. The lower S3, S5, and S7 come with just the 2WD option, while the S11 is available in both 2WD as well as 4WD trims. There is a standard 5-speed manual transmission unit available in all the variants barring the 140 bhp S7 which gets a 6-speed unit. Mahindra Scorpio's automatic is not offered as of now.

Mahindra Scorpio Exterior

The 2021 Scorpio is one of the most muscular cars in the SUV segment at the price range. The front section gets a very attractive look with an edgy bumper portion. In fact, the lower bumper and the air dams almost cover the presence of the skid plate. The grille gets a mesh design with a seven-chambered cover. The front wheel arches are big but the rear ones are softer. However, the body is devoid of much black cladding along with the lower skirt.

Mahindra Scorpio top model rides on thick 235 section 17-inch wheels while the lower variants get 15-inch wheels with 215 section tires. The top-spec models also get projector headlamps and fog lamps.

Mahindra Scorpio Interior

The key highlight of the Mahindra Scorpio interior is that it is given bench seat for the third row as well, along with a center armrest. The seats are wrapped in faux leather upholstery, making the car cabin a better place than most of the cars with fabric upholstery.

The front dash section imparts pretty much of attractions as well. The centrally mounted 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system gets GPS satellite navigation. Barring the touch screen unit, the other systems on the dash get analog dials along with a digital clock. The settings on the center console are clean with good quality knobs and button bits. The top-end spec also gets automatic climate control along with a heater. There are two 12V power outlets as well.

The Mahindra Scorpio is one of the oldest beasts of the Indian SUV segment. It competes against cars like the Tata Sumo, Tata Hexa, and the Renault Duster. It is more of a complete SUV than an MPV and thus has a smaller targeted competitors’ list.

2021 Mahindra Scorpio review verdict

With the introduction of the Mahindra Scorpio facelift, the company has managed to maintain its hold on the craze that has been existent for a long time. The SUV is powerful at heart and the same is complemented by the exterior design as well. Mahindra Scorpio on-road price is equivalent to many crossover and 5-Seater Suv, which gives the Scorpio an edge over them.
The SUV has been doing well since its launch, along with the Bolero, and the subsequent launches of the XUV500 or the TUV300 have not dented the sales in any sense. The popularity and preference of the car over the other 7-seaters are clearly visible in its sales figures. Buying a new Mahindra Scorpio means you are investing in a car that will pay you back with its immense mileage, attractive designing and a powerful heart under the bonnet. However, the base S3 model has an old engine fitted, which would feel incompetent compared to other cars in the segment.

Now lets talks about the variant, to me the new Mahindra Scorpio s11 is Scorpio best model in 2021 and the new Scorpio s11 price is still very competitive in the segment.
