After a serious crash, this Bugatti Chiron was split into two halves during one of the craziest rebuild projects ever attempted. With no help and no parts from Bugatti, Matt Armstrong and his team had to figure out how to repair a broken engine mount, reconnect the gearbox, and join the entire car back together.
Instead of replacing the damaged part, they took a huge risk and welded the original engine mount back together, reinforcing it to make it even stronger. If the repair failed, the entire rebuild would collapse.
After reinstalling the engine, gearbox, sensors, and oil lines, the team attempted the biggest moment of the project—reconnecting the front and rear halves of the Chiron using titanium bolts.
But just when everything looked perfect… one bolt snapped during tightening, putting the whole rebuild in danger.
