Bladder Control After Spinal Cord Injury | Peeing as a Paraplegic
How to Pee When You Have No Bladder Control After Spinal Cord Injury
Most people only think being paralyzed means you can't walk but in actual fact, there's so much more to it than that! One of the biggest issues almost every person with a spinal cord injury faces is loss of control of their bladder and bowels. This even affects most paraplegics who can walk! When you first have your spinal cord injury the realisation that you may wet yourself is pretty mortifying and it can really knock your confidence with going about your daily life in case you have an accident in public. Luckily, with a bit of practice, it's quite possible to regain control of your bladder through routine and the use of catheters. In this video we discuss bladder routine and show you the different types of catheters people may use to go for a wee after spinal cord injury and Craig even gives a demo of how he goes to the toilet (don't worry there is no nudity). We also show you how you can go to the toilet when there is no disabled toilet available.
