Travel Vlog | Jerome, Arizona | The Wild West
#travelvlog, #travelarizona, #historicroadtrip, #Eductionalvideoforkids,
This fall we took a trip to Sedona, AZ but during this trip we drove to another tiny historic town called Jerome that can be seen featured in a new show on The DIY Network called "Boomtown Builder". One of the homes on the show is shown in my vlog. Jerome is sitting at about a mile high in elevation which means it is forest and mountain terrain. The views were absolutely stunning! Jerome is full of history from when the cowboys first settled in Arizona to mine copper and other precious metals. There is also quite a bit of history in firefighting here since the town burned down about 4 times (or more) in its life span. This town is even older than the state of Arizona itself. Since the terrain is mountainous, the builders had to get creative when building homes...so most of the homes are hanging off the side of mountains on stilts. It is so scary to see for someone afraid of heights like I am! We visited all the shops, a restaurant called The Haunted Hamburger (DELISH!), explored the roads, stopped at all the museums, and hung out with the neighborhood cat. My husband has already planned out retirement there, ha! It is a place you have to see to believe. I loved every minute of it. As beautiful as Sedona was, we loved Jerome so much more! If you are ever in Arizona, this is a must see!
