How to make a bevel jig the "easy" way (featuring electrical arcs, sparks and smoke!)

Here's how I mad my very first bevel jig. It's beautiful (to me) and it works! And yes, I used a welder (hence the "arcs, sparks and smoke"), but you could cheat and do it without if need be. Follow along and I'll show you everything you need to know.

Grinding a bevel into a knife is one of the most difficult aspects of knife making, and it's one that I'm still trying to master, but it's much easier with a bevel grinding jig. In fact, although this was my first time using one, I already dramatically improved the quality of the bevel and I did it in less time.

Tools used on this project included:
Harbor Freight welder, Craftsman cordless drill, Harbor Freight belt sander, bench vice and belt grinder, and more.
