Modular By Nature - Session 7 - Eurorack Yule log

For my seventh Modular By Nature session, I decided to get cozy by the fire in our family's off-grid cabin on Galiano island. The crackling of the wood and the creaking of the stove provided some interesting rhythmic and textural input for my modular. You can also hear my wife putting the birds to bed.

The fire was picked up by a Rode NTG3 shotgun microphone powered by an Art Tube MP preamp. The mic input is duplicated by the Intellijel Audio Interface and one input is sent to the Intellijel Morgasmatron filter, and the other goes to the Metasonix RK2 XS VCA before hitting Mutable Instruments Rings. Morgasmatron's OUT A feeds the SSF Ultra Random Analog Sample and Hold input A, Out B goes to the 4MS Spectral Multiband Resonator, the MIX out goes to the Quad VCA which also receives the output from Rings and the SMR. Quad VCA's output goes to Qu-Bit Nebulae for sampling triggered by Steppy, then through Springray, and finally to Rainmaker.

Marbles provides clock, CV, and gate modulation to control Maths Rise/Fall times opening the VCAs for Rings and SMR, shift the notes from SMR, and morph the structure and position of Rings. Planar is controlling the tone of the patch via Morgasmatron's FM inputs, Rings Brightness, and Rainmaker's Tone.

Everything is powered by an Aimtom PowerPal Rocker SPS-300.
