Indian Myna - Acridotheres tristis

The Indian Myna, Acridotheres tristis, is very common here - maybe this is the reason why these birds are also called Common Myna ;-)

Mynas are singing and "speaking" in a very pleasant but sometimes also very loud manner, and sometimes a wonderful afternoon nap is abruptly terminated by any Myna sitting and singing in any of the trees in the garden. They are everywhere around here, very well adapted to Bangalore's urban environment. Sometimes Mynas form bigger groups, and sometimes I notice them even attending Seven Sisters meetings, means they form for a while a kind of loose gang, where Mynas and Seven Sisters together check the same places for any eatables, coming and going the same time.
