This time, I’m using the Benson Preamp not as a subtle tone enhancer, but as the main voice of the rig.

The gain is pushed up to around 3 o’clock,
running into a Two-Rock Classic Reverb set right on the edge.
Pick lightly and it stays clean, dig in and it breaks up.

That dynamic range is where the magic happens.

I thought this pedal is cool to use as an “always-on” pedal, meant to gently push a clean amp and add depth and dimension.

But once you push the gain like this,
it becomes something completely different.

What really stood out to me is that
this works perfectly as a main lead tone.
Not just usable genuinely inspiring.

This isn’t just a “nice to have” pedal.
It’s a core piece that elevates your entire sound.
Once you get used to it, other overdrives can start to feel a bit flat.
