Sabiá-branco - White thrush

Este é um sabiá-laranjeira (Turdus rufiventris) leucistico. O leucismo é uma condição genética que, devido a presença de um gene recessivo, faz com que animais com pelagem ou plumagem normalmente escura a tenham na coloração branca. Uma característica que permite diferenciar visualmente animais leucisticos de albinos é que os olhos do leucistico possuem a coloração normal enquanto que no albino a cor é geralmente vermelha. Também diferentemente do albinismo animais leucisticos não tem maior sensibilidade à luz solar. Esse indivíduo do vídeo procurava alimento em meio às folhas secas junto de outros sabiás-laranjeira.

This individual in the video was searching for food among the fallen leaves alongside other rufous-bellied thrushes.
