Major League Soccer (MLS) is a men's professional soccer league sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation which represents the sport's highest level in the United States. The league comprises 26 teams—23 in the U.S. and 3 in Canada.
The 2020 Major League Soccer season will be the 25th season of Major League Soccer. The regular season will begin on February 29, 2020 and will end in October 2020. The MLS Cup Playoffs will begin in October or November 2020, and conclude with MLS Cup 2020 in November 2020.
The 2020 season will mark the arrival of two expansion clubs, Inter Miami CF and Nashville SC.
Seattle Sounders FC are the defending MLS Cup champions, while Los Angeles FC are the defending Supporters' Shield winners.
