Monroe Milstein, Burlington Coat Factory Founder, Dies at 98

Monroe Milstein, the man who spent $75,000 to buy an empty factory and turned it into the Burlington Coat Factory empire, has died at 98. Monroe was known for his humility, riding the bus to work, focusing on his company’s annual coat drive and saying once in an interview “I feel I’m a very average fellow ... I got lucky.” Sunday TODAY’s Willie Geist remembers a life well lived.
