G Scale Bighorn Trains at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens

The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens’ Bighorn Railroad features G-scale model trains and tracks set on ¾ of an acre of make-believe towns and landscapes. It has lots of buildings, people and other scenery that make the layout come to life. The train display has more than 3,115 feet of track with 18 distinct inter-connected train lines, and features the world’s longest wooden G-scale train trestle measuring over 202 feet. If you like trains and are in the Palm Springs California area you need to come see this layout. It’s ran by staff member and 25 volunteers. Maybe I’ll see about volunteering to work on this layout.

They only had a few trains running. It was hot there so they don’t run as many trains. This is the second time I have been here and the first time they had trains running. The running passenger train will have issues as you will see.
