There's a common belief in the industry that sales and negotiation
are the same skill.

I don't see it that way — and I think the tools prove it.

Every CRM on the planet (Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics)
tracks the sales lifecycle. Pipeline. Forecast. Close date. Quota.

Not one of them tracks a concession.
Not the terms of the deal.
Not the objectives.

Because sales is about getting to yes.
Negotiation is about what the yes actually looks like.

Different skill. Different mindset. Different tooling.

And just because someone knows how to negotiate doesn't mean
they can sell, either.
